The French Connexion – Llandudno has specific connexions with places in France. Links with Mametz were forged during the 1914/18 war, and with Wormhout early in the 1939/45 war resulting in Llandudno's subsequent twinning with Wormhout

The Australian Connexion – Llandudno had an important World War 1 connexion with Australia. William Hughes, Prime Minister of Australia (1915-23) was educated in Llandudno and visited the town, as a member of Lloyd George’s War Cabinet, during the war and later, after the war, returned with his wife on his way to unveil the statue to Lloyd George in Caernarfon
