Llandudno
Probus Club for retired business and professional folk was formed in
1973 and is at the present time actively
recruiting members. The club will be pleased to hear from retired and
partially retired business and professional ladies and gentlemen living
in or near
Llandudno who might wish in retirement to consider joining a
club which offers friendship, fellowship, support, and a variety of
invited speakers at monthly luncheon meetings throughout the year.
Our
regular meeting place is
The Dunoon Hotel, Gloddaeth Street, Llandudno, twice monthly. On the
first Wednesday in each month we meet for coffee and biscuits at 11
a.m. Our
principal meeting is normally on the third Wednesday in each month at
12:30 p.m.
for luncheon at 1 p.m. and the meal is usually followed by a guest
speaker. But special arrangements apply for meetings during the
winter. The club held a much enjoyed
Christmas Luncheon at the Dunoon Hotel on Friday December 12th
2008.
Our
luncheons on January 21st and February 18th were at the North
Wales Golf Club in Bryniau Road, Llandudno, after which date the Dunoon
Hotel was again our regular venue. At the AGM
on January 21st new officers were appointed as listed below.
Llandudno is the largest
seaside tourist resort in Wales and as early as 1864 was being
described as the Queen of Welsh Resorts, an accolade that it continues
to merit. For many years it has also been a very popular
residential
area for leading business and professional people and a favourite place
in
which to retire.
